Giving the children of Mombasa a brighter Future
We are a charitable organization created by a group of friends who came together in 2008 to help educate and feed the poorest children in Mombasa, Kenya.
So far, we have built a preschool, a junior and a senior primary school for these little guys. We bought a new plot of land and now we plan to build a secondary school.
Our 2023 Plan to Build Our Secondary School
As a result of our fundraising in Shanghai in 2016 we bought land to build our secondary school in 2019. We then started planning to build our secondary school with the help of two amazing volunteers- Stacie Gibbons (Civil Engineer) and David Kelly (Archtect). Unfortunately Covid´s arrival in 2020 completely stopped this plan as we could no longer fundraise publicly and Covid pushed Kenya futher into poverty, meaning we had to focus on support on humanitarian relief instead of funding the building of the secondary school. We restarted our efforts in 2022 and completed these beautiful plans below, see full architectural plans here. See proposal document here. We are now seeking a donor to fund the construction of this school for 110 students, . This will allow our students to complete their secondary education. Covid Humanitarian Relief Program 2020
Coronavirus hit Kenya terribly, mainly due to the negative economic impact caused by a strict quarantine. This had a significant impact on our children, their parents/guardians and our teachers. Hopsyg dug deep and coordinated two relief program. See the photos of our relief program.
